I think you are seeing it right, they look black to me, and yes, on a Cosmo, they would have been purple.

Here's an interesting observation. If you look at the data plate pic, it shows that the color was originally Cosmo (970L), sooooooo, the interior is correct, but the exterior was repainted, and the interior door panels were replaced. Hmmmm?
Also this: Why is this car a salvage title??? The damage shown on the left front fender would not be enough to total the car, sooooooo, what else happened to it? Hmmmmm?

Someone went through a lot of trouble to repaint, cause the door jambs, radiator core support, underhood, inner front fenders, inside the trunk, everything is painted!
