The G6 hasn't sold very well. GM has given a bunch of them to the rental fleets. The cars see hard use and marginal service for the first 25-30,000 miles of their life. My guess is if you avoid a rental car, you'll be ok.
As a side note, I was at Hertz this last week and they have about a 1/3 of their fleet from Toyota, Highlanders, Solora convertibles, Camry's, Corolas and some trucks too. A good portion of the other rental fleets had a bunch of Toyotas in them. That's where Toyota is getting its sales this year. My guess is that a bunch of people are going to buy used Toyota rentals and have problems down the road too. Also that will really kill resale value on them and pull other Toyotas down as well.
