That is completely false. The factory airbox is very restrictive and draws hot air into the engine. Replacing it w/ a full cai kit will lower intake temps, allow more air into the engine and smooth out the air flow path, resulting in more hp and much improved throttle response. I recently installed a kn cai after having the kn drop in for a few weeks and the difference is well worth it. The car feels much more responsive and sounds great too.
