The pinging is still the major issue. We have tried with a t-stat, without one, even drilled holes in one and tried it. Still too hot.
Tried retarding the timing, but only get less power at low speed and still too hot..
We are going to move the fan up closer to the rad, and we discussed blocking all other gaps around the shroud. It has a triple core radiator. He says he is going to put a 4 core in and try that too.
Going to convert from points to electronic.
My mechanic is cool and is letting me leave it with him for awhile so he can play with it...
I guess I'm just hoping that there may be some magician out there who could perform some magic on it.? I may have to find an old lantern somewhere and shine it up.
