correct air cleaner for 71 400?

I am trying to figure something out. I bought a dual snorkel air cleaner off ebay, which appeared to be correct, but when I attempted to put it on the carb, it won't fit because it has what looks to be a connection for a heating element tube on the driver's side snorkel. I know my car does not have a heater tube of any kind coming off the exhaust manifold, and this extension coming off the snorkel even hits the valve cover. It was advertised as fitting a 69-72 gto, but the owner did not say what it came off of.

Update:

I believe it to be correct, the air cleaner is tilted a bit to the side, I was thinking it should go in straight up. Thank God there are tons of gto pictures out there to match up with.

This leads me to the heater element-I don't see one on my exhaust manifold, is it possible that it was taken off?

Thanks in advance!
-Steve
