I have had about 18 cars over the past 50 years, including a '68 Firebird and a '68 LeMans. But this is my first GTO which I got 10 days ago. Its a '69 in nice shape but it still has plenty of restoration opportunities. According to the PHS records, it came with a 350HP "YS" but supposedly the first owner ordered up a swap to an "XX". This is what I am researching now.

Anyway, its lots of fun and I look forward to being part of this forum.

Hey gang,

I just picked this beauty up last wednesday. As stated in the title, she's an '04 all stock 6-speed with almost 44k miles. I really wanted an '05-'06, but they were few and far between around here and most were automatics which is against my religion LMAO!! Not to mention they were $5-8k more than this one with higher miles and bathed less appealing colors.

So far I've cleaned up the engine bay a bit and painted the fuel rail covers red (cleche I know, but I love the look and it is my car after all!!) I have a set of 55w 8000k HID's on the way, because I have grown to love them and can't stand the look of stock halogens, be them in projector form or not. I have attached a few images of the car I've taken so far, the engine shots are a before and after.

I have always been a 4-cylinder enthusiast, beginning with an H22A swapped '92 Accord and ending with a super slow but comfortably riding '05 tC. Needless to say, this is a drastic change, but I've loved these cars since their introduction to the American market. Don't get me wrong, the G.O.A.T.'s of old were awesome in their own right, but I myself prefer the sportier look of the Holden chassis. As with many before me who have converted, the gas mileage will take some getting used to; however, that being said, I'm well aware that you have to pay to play!!:cheers

I'm In the middle of two 66 GTO revamps. One is a fix whats wrong put a motor in it and drive it. The other is a full fram off I guess restmod maybe. that one when done along time from now will have ls, power six speed trans out of newer gto i hope, and air ride along with many other toys. Whats sad is, and save the hate mail, is that my favorite GTO are the 71-72, and 74. But my dad started the 66 GTO befor he got sick and i went another way. So i got the other one to get driveabale and hope to take him for a ride next year. BUt as for me i've been working on cars as long as i can rember My real first car experance was my uncle russell's 69 nova with a pontiac 455 shoehorned in. My dad is a pontiac man. so i was just domed. Yes i have two oldsmobile's but as my story goes i was loking for 71-72 GTO or clone able when my frend offerd the 71 Cutlass for pnnes on a $. But a least falls in BOP terority. I still have the 455 out of the nova some day i want another nova or my first car i had at 13 that was to rusted for my skill back then and was forced to give up a 74 GTO. ANy way I'm in north west IN. I'm 32 years old and i love GTO's.

So far what I've found are a K&N intake, a B&M shifter, a Diablosport tuner and some BMR drag bags. I found this forum today while doing a search for info on the drag bags. Looks like a pretty good place with more than a few knowledgeable folks hanging around and I look forward to learning a few things and hopefully, eventually, being able to pass on a few things.
