Actually whatever the case may be I think I want to get the required rear suspension components to make a around stock height. Can someone point me in the right direction in what do I need for the rear, brands, etc to make it around stock height status?

I dont need to fancy road course suspension I use the goat as a daily driver. Thanks

Yes I could have went with a stiffer spring from Pedders, King or some other coil-over brand. I really like the ride of the stock GTO, and it handles well in the canyons and the road course. It don't see much road course duty so I didn't want to tune it for the road course when it spends more street duty time. I just wanted a lower stance the will help in the looks and lowering of the center of gravity. Hopefully when I pair these springs with Pedders Comfort Gas shocks and struts or maybe some adjustable Konis they will work well with these springs.

I have Koni yellows and King Springs yellows.

Upgraded my sway bars to the most rigid ones that I found - Addco.

I my goal was to eliminate to minimize that "boaty/land-yacht" feeling.

At first I upgraded everything but the Pedders. It helped, but there was still that feeling of delayed steering response that I could do without.

Keep in mind that I also wanted comfort, so I choose the progressive springs.

Well, after talking to Pedders about my goals and mods they recommended those 2 parts up there.

I couldn't have been more happier.

It also eliminated that clucking sound in the rear and front that I was starting to get.

Car now feels like it should have come from Holden:

- planted
- responsive
- comfortable

I don't always recommend parts, but this I would.

ok so i have had the street ripshifter for about four months or so now and love it!! however i recently ran into a problem. my problem is that in 1st 3rd 6th and rev the leather bag that is on the shifter is too tight when it those gears.. while in first it will even be tight enought to pop the shifter out of gear.. i cant even tell you how frustrating it is when driving in traffic. the wierd thing is it only recently started happening so i thought it might be tranny problems.. so i took the top part of the console off and have driven for a few days with the shifter cover so it is loose and can move around and havent had a single problem.. so i KNOW that the tight leather is the problem.

has anyone else had this problem?? the only way i can think to correct the problem is to cut the ripshifter at the end and re notch it to make it shorter giving the leather more slack also making it a shorter shifter, which would be a good thing.. just wondered what you all thought i should do as i am driving my car around with no top on my console lol
also i put my shift knob back on with rvt and cannot for the life of me pull it back off.. what i wonder is it bad to pull to hard up on the shifter will it pop out of socket and or screw up the springs?? thanks guys

With the exception of the sterring rack bushing all of the bushings in the front end have been replaced. I may or may not change the steering rack bushing can't find that much feedback on it. Some of you may know that I replaced my control arm bushings: rear radius rod and inner control arm bushings recently from a previous thread. Just recently I replaced my strut mount bushings and bearings with Lovells poly bushings. Both of them were shot and one of them puked bearings as I was un bolting the strut mount. Both of them collapsed and showing metal on the edges. After I replaced them got new tires and alingment. It feels like a different car now. The steering is more responsive, the braking is more reponsive, with a little more NVH. We have a canyon run this Sunday can't wait to try out the new bushings.

So, as some of you know I had some issues with my Hawk HPS pads cracking and killing my DBA 4000XS rotors. Well, my rotors were slightly warped and I couldn't notice it unless I really hit the brake hard. I did some research and found an alternative to spending $800 on brakes. I got the Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors with the Powerstop ceramic pads.

Here is a link to the online store that I bought from: myworld.ebay.com/brakemotive76

To be honest, I was really skeptical what to expect since eBay isn't exactly known for selling high quality stuff. When I opened the box I couldn't belive how well they were machined. When I compared them to my old stock and DBA rotors, they were actually a tad thicker. The pads weren't any different looking then what I had on before but were solid quality.

Install of the rotors was cake, the fit perfect. Pads were a little hard since I the rotor is a tad thinker so I literally had to compress the caliper to 100% to get it on. I'll post some pics of them installed over the weekend after I finally wash my car.

First test drive felt great. They actually feel like they have more bite then my old combo did. I didn't do anything to crazy yet since they are new and it was wet, but over the next few days I plan on doing a few high speed stops to see how they go.

So far, I would highly recommend them to anyone. I'm hoping they last.

I will be machining my DBA fronts and listing them for sale fairly cheap to clear my garage but the rear rotors were actually cracked so they are scrap... so keep an eye out for a sale thread:D

$240 shipped is a hell of a deal!

I am researching information for my next project and as part of that I will be needing a new clutch. I have read a ton of reviews on the monsters, spec's, and ls7 clutches and usually buried int he thread somewhere is something about a slave cylinder.

I have read some threads that say to just change it out when you do the clutch, but why?

If I go the ls7 clutch route as I don't think I will ever be at 500 rwhp, how would I tell if I need the slave cylinder replaced as well. Why is it recommended, but not required?

I noticed they are like 200+ for a GTO slave, but you can buy an f-body and make it fit.....I guess I am just trying to find some more knowledge on the topic so I understand a little bit more.

Thanks

The issue I need to tackle is I have the infamous strut rub issue, and even though my alighnment is good because these tires are about 2 months old with no more than 1,500 miles on them so they where already aligned, other issue is hte outside edges have feathering and or cupping wear.

So if someone can tell me what do I need thanks. Thomas

I have a 05 a4 gto with like 47,000 miles on it and recently I had it at a dealer to fix a issue, and on the paper and verbally the service writer said "There is some tire noise" I ask him what this means and he says possible cupping on the tires".

I work at a mechanic automotive shop and I ask a mechanic do you simply fix the cupping by rotating the tires because thats what I thought personally, He said no its usally a suspension issue, like maybe needs shocks. What do you guys think? I do know these goats OEM shocks go out quick right?

I thought I checked the tires before for uneven wear but they looked good but I'll check again and report back.

Ok an update I went to garage and without car being lifted up high just checking on the ground I had ran my hands up and down the treads and feels like feathering, where starting from the front of the tire/tread is sharper than the rear tread. Another way putting it is if I run my hand in the direction of the front bumper/forward its smoother becaus etheres no sharp edges of tread its more rounded I suppose.

Anyone know how to fix feathering tire wear?

I cannot tell you how proud I am to be part of the GMPP program and how much I enjoy my relationships with so many good people at GM. GMPP will release more details soon. As a Camaro owner you will be able to purchase your Pedders coilovers through our Specialist Dealer Network or your local GM Dealer.

In addition to the GMPP announcement we also ran a couple of cars on the track. The GM TEAM got hot laps with our driving professional John Buttermore of Nearbrook Motorsports in the Pedders USA, Camaro. They were not disappointed in the performance or the ride quality. Pedders exceeded thier expectations.

The Supercar Shootout they came to see went exceptionally well, but that is another thread. Here is a short teaser video.
what parts should i get for suspension that wont break my $1500 budget (w/out cost of labor) and would be the most effective in tight cornering?
does having an A4 have a downside, and if so, what should i be doing different?
and if you have any tips, what would you suggest?

thanks for your time guys
