Howdy all... I just got my TH400 tranny rebuilt but I need a new shifter cable.
How hard is it to replace the cable?
I found one for my '67 in performance years but it says "without grommet"
what are they talking about and do I need this 'grommet'?
thanks as always

Topkat, I believe the grommet they are talking about is the one where the cable goes through the floor/tunnel. If you have one already, not need to replace it. If you don't, I recommend you get one. Matt
Try Shiftworks.com they sell a replacement cable that unlike most things is better than the original equipment one. It's thicker yet more flexible to avoid kinking.
Yes sir. As I recall, you have to remove a small bracket and then unhook the cable.
