I talked with the guys at Kooks and they said 1 7/8 would actually lose you HP due to backpressure issues blah blah blah. They said that 1 3/4 were the way to go UNLESS you were heavily modified (heads and cam, or supercharged/turbo). Just something to think about.

Not true at all. Here is my dyno sheet. The first run was catback and intake, the inbetween was headers before the tune and last run was headers/tune. Where did I loose power? I did 371/375 with a quick tune, im sure there is more left in it since I only picked up 10rwhp from the tune.

www.marylandspeed.com is the cheapest place I've found to buy Kooks headers with the legal or illegal connecting pipe. They say on that site that you are wasting your money and or actually losing HP by going to the 1 7/8 header due to backpressure crap. AGAIN I say, my buddy at work has the maggy supercharged Lingenfelter Corvette. They put the 1 3/4 on there, and this is coming smoking hot fresh out of the box from the boys at Lingenfelter themselves in Indiana. All I can say is, I'm saving up for Kook's headers myself, and I can't afford forced induction at the moment, so I'm going with the 1 3/4" and save the 20 measly bucks or whatever they charge for the 1 7/8. Don't get me wrong, I'm jealous as all hell that you got headers and I got squat, all I have is an illegal racing K&N Aircharger CAI and a DiabloSport Dyno Tune.

Ive seen arguements from both sides. Ive got 1 7/8 and didnt loose power like people say I would. And the thing is, 1 7/8 will only benefit you with future mods. ARH recomends 1 7/8 on the GTO anyway and thats who installed mine. Your buddy is loosing power with the 1 3/4 on his car with a maggie. I dont know why they would do that when you even said Kooks recommends 1 7/8 with a supercharger
