FS: Borla catback for '04, tips in stock location

Wanting to sell my Borla catback off my '04. The tips exit in the stock location. It's been on the car for a month and is welded, so it will have to be cut off the car. Paid $839+shipping for it. I just don't care for the sound. I was looking for more of a NASCAR sound. The borla gives the car more of an exotic sound, along the lines of a ferrari. It is also quieter at idle than stock. WOT sounds really good, but I just don't go WOT enough to make me happy with the system. I will try to put a sound clip up this afternoon or evening. If you're interested, shoot me a PM. Thanks!

What other exhaust are you looking to purchase to replace it?

[quote=I was looking for more of a NASCAR sound. ![/QUOTE]

Try 2 cutouts with electric power plates. That's what I had in my '02 SS, Camaro

I found that just cracking them open about 1/2" gave the sound I was looking for, then I got some billet aluminum, and cut some plates the size of the cutout and drilled holes in them until i got the sound i wanted.

cutouts are great, except you loose some on the low end but gain it in top end. that's why i chose billet plate over power plate. no noticable loss on low end.

If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM with an offer. Keep in mind these have been welded on. So they will have to be cut off, then cut to be able to fit into box for shipping... unless it's someone fairly local. I'd be willing to travel a little ways (couple hours) to meet up with someone. They were $839 + shipping new and are less than a month old.

not sure yet. I'm undecided between removing mufflers and adding straight pipes, or headers with stock catback, or the cutouts. Still weighing my options. The borla sounds good, just not the sound I was looking for. I want to scare small children and make old ladies frown.

If you truely want a "NASCAR" sound let me ask, have you heard a SLP loudmouth with headers? I've got them on my car (I'm not a NASCAR fan but it's as close as your gonna get street legal) sounds good!

I am going to look at some stainless works LT's this weekend while I'm in Indianapolis. The guy ordered them then never had them installed. No cats. He wants $750 for them. If I get them, I may end up leaving the Borla on if I like the sound. I've not heard one in person, but I've heard it said that headers with a catback sounds tough. Thanks GTODEALER!
