The new 350Z's run 13.7 1/4 mile the 04 GTO stock is almost the exact same. With you being modded, you got the correct outcome versus the 350Z.

Haha nice kill, with my 06 I usually get nice comments, also like a thread mentioned sometime earlier this past fall, I do love when people stick theyre head out of the car to see my GTO badge on the side of the car, and say... "I though GTO's were 5.7"

There have been some low 13's with similar mods. A safe guess would be 13.4 or 13.5. That should be a safe guess, with the right driver and good conditions you might squeek a 13.1-13.2.

Take the time and go to the track. It's just a big car show and you get to drive your car all out a couple times.

The new 350Z with the bump in the hood are quick and will keep up with LS2 GTO's and edge out 04 goats.

I was looking at a bunch of road tests for the 350Z. what I saw was that Car and Driver and Road and Track both got 13.7 for the 350Z. Using Motor Trend, Car and Driver and Road and Track, I saw 13.6-13.8 for the LS1 GTO. The older 350Z was more like 14.1-14.3. The LS2 GTO is pretty consistant in the road tests at 13.1-13.3.

I'd say that the new 350Z is more of a good match-up for the LS1. The OP's LS1 GTO is modified so there wasn't much question of the outcome.

Older Z's are more like 13.80's- 14 flat.

I'm surprised you beat him so bad, but even if you two had been side-by-side, he still would've lost, so who cares. Nice kill....

I've spent over an hour looking at road tests for the 2004 GTO and the 2007 350Z, the 2007 350Z Nismo and 2003, 2004 and 2005 350Z's. I've look at Sport Compact Car, Road and Track Car and Driver, Edmunds, MM&FF's, I can't find anything different than what I posted, which was this:

2003-2005 350Z, 350Z Nismo R Tune and 350z Nismo S Tune are 14.0- 14.4 1/4 mile cars.

The 2004 GTO is a 13.5-13.8 1/4 mile car. I know some people have gone 13.1 with them stock, but I'm using mag times because that eliminates the variables.

The 2007 350Z and the 2007 Nismo 350Z are 13.6-13.7.

So the car he raced, a 2007 as stated by the OP is a drivers race with the 2004 GTO, and with his mods the GTO gets the upper hand.

So we don't get into a pissing match, can you please post some links to a reputable source for these claims. If you would like I can post links to my claims.

Two members on this forum were bashing a statement when I said that the 04 GTOs have been as low as 13.20s bone stock, you really know people who have gone 13.1s bone stock ferg?
