Somehow I missed that whole time part of that post and only remember the 60' part.

What 69Bossnine says makes sense, I think a couple C5 guys have gotten into the high 12's, and a couple F-body guys have gotten into the high 12's including GMHTP magazine. The GTO being heavier shouldn't be able to match that you'd think. My guess is it's 3 tenths slower for the weight at least. that would make a 13.2 possibly believable, and 13.3 a very realistic time, but of course we're bench racing now.

That's exactly why I hate basing what a car will do off things you read in a forum. I got my LS2 to do a 12.895, but if you ask me I'll tell you an LS2 GTO is a 13.1 car. Sure when the planets align the thing can dip into 12's, but realistically you should use a proven source for real numbers.

I understand there not low 13s cars in the 1/4, but it is possible to get an 04 GTO in the low 13s, though it is very rare, there mostly high to mid 13s cars.

2003-2005 350Z, 350Z Nismo R Tune and 350z Nismo S Tune are 14.0- 14.4 1/4 mile cars.

The 2004 GTO is a 13.5-13.8 1/4 mile car. I know some people have gone 13.1 with them stock, but I'm using mag times because that eliminates the variables.

The 2007 350Z and the 2007 Nismo 350Z are 13.6-13.7.

So the car he raced, a 2007 as stated by the OP is a drivers race with the 2004 GTO, and with his mods the GTO gets the upper hand.

So we don't get into a pissing match, can you please post some links to a reputable source for these claims. If you would like I can post links to my claims.

And where did I say otherwise???

There are such crappy Z times in mags because they are rarely tested.

I could have said the '07+ Z is a 13.1 sec car, and the pre-'07 is a 13.6 sec car because-

Wow, I didn't realize the 04's were as fast as the 07's. Thanks for the link.

Well, you'll no doubt notice the difference in trap speeds. And the VQ35DE cars ('03-06) have had a lot more time for their owners to track them. The older cars would get slaughtered on the big end...

Those new Z's are pretty quick in the hands of a good driver. I have a LS1 GTO A4 with Predator(custom tune), Borla CB, K&N Cai, and TB Bypass. My friend has a bone stock '07 350Z 6-speed and when we race at the track I can hang with him through the 1/8 but he pulls away on the second half of the track.

He ran a 13.2 at 107 down at the Cecil, Ga track SGMP. At Carolina Dragway he ran a 13.1 at 105 so he's a pretty good driver. They're also underrated. They're rated at 306 hp but dynos have shown them to be stronger than that.
