So I'm driving to Raleigh for a three day conference from the beach. It's about 150 miles on divided highway, BUT it has 80 or so lights. It usually takes a little more than 2.5 hours.
Anyway, I'm getting close to Raleigh, the speed limit was 55 and traffic was flowing around 70. This BMW 550 passes me cruising about 75. Of course I'm thinking "550? never seen a 550 before, I wonder how we'd match up..." Wouldn't you know it, a red light. I have to move in behind the beemer cause there is this new Ford f150 in the right lane so i'm thinking the BMW will take off a little faster than the truck.
The light turns green and to my surprise, the f150 is gone, full throttle start. The BMW takes off, not really going after the truck. Then, he realizes that I'm about to move over and pass his a$$. So he gets on it and I can see the smiles on their faces as he shifts and the beemer lurches. Too bad those smiles turned upside down as I walk on by like I was being pulled by a bull mastiff.
I complete the pass and move in front as we go around the Ford and kept on going about to 110. At that point, I have some distance on him and let off. I had slowed down to about 80 when he passed me, neither him nor the passenger looked at me (LMAO).
Sure enough we catch another red light and this time we are both lined up, I'm ready, but they both look depressed and won't even glance at me. The light turns green and I'm gone, he didn't even try.
He passed me again when I was cruising around 75. LOL, he can keep going at that speed.
Sweet kill.... I am making it a habit to go after EVERYTHING with a BMW on it.... Caught an M3 slippin yesterday, no room to run but I gave him the 455 Bobcat roar it caught his attention hehe
Sorry Jim, but the 550 sedan is new for 2007. It is a 4.8-liter, 360-hp V-8. It replaces the 545 model. The same thing happened in the 6 series (650 replaces 645)
