I got behind a Charger SRT8 this afternoon coming home from work out in the middle of the bay heading towards FL. This was only the 2nd one or so I've come up on while in my car.
This past spring on my way to Chicago, just outside the western suburbs I came across a 300C SRT8 with an older guy driving. We were 100% equal. We didn't get up to insane speeds (I've heard the 6.1L hemi is about 10-11 mph faster on the top end then the LS2), maybe 95-100 mph and we both let off. He was kind of irritated that I hung with him. We were coming up on traffic and fun time was over but I'd pull up beside him to look at him and smile and thumbs up or whatever, and he never turned his head to look at me. But I digress...
This Charger SRT8 I came up next to sounded mean as hell, don't know if they all sound like that or he did something to it. There was way too much traffic to even entertain the thought of doing anything so I just had to follow behind him 7 miles across the bridge where I had to hit the first exit to go to the house. Wish I could've got up beside him and went for a whirl. Damn awesome car, those Charger SRT8's, even with 4 doors and being a Dodge.
They're pretty mean... I noticed around here at least, they're usually driven by older men who've put some money into the car so I don't even try to tango
Funny thread....I JUST had a run-in with one of those god awful looking black and yellow RumbleBees on the interstate through Killeen, and thought it would be an easier kill.
Still a kill, but he made me work for it.
Not a fan of the SRT8, personally, but if I absolutely HAD to have one, it would be all black with deep dish black rims and a chrome lip like the one that parks at my work.
I can't seem to drive through Killeen without some "domestic" disturbance.
Haha, my friend has an '07 like that. It's the Pearl Black and he's got flat black Hemi stripes on the side, and the hoop scoop painted flat black. It's lowered on 22" I-Forged 3-pieces black w/ a polished lip. Of course tinted out and nice audio setup. He's also got an intake, full exhaust and tune. It's pretty badass. It looks absolutely sinister driving down the road, espec at night.
