Got the LT4 to the strip

I was really impressed. I also got my girlfriend to run her C5 too. My C4 LT4 6M ran about 5 tenths quicker than her C5. She has an A4 with the 2.73 gears.

I'll start with the stats. Low 80's upper 70's by the end of our runs and moderate humidity. Sunny so the track hooked good. Very slight headwind, maybe 5mph. I think someone calculated a D/A of about 500'. So not great but not bad conditions.

The Mach 1 ran 3 times and had a best of 13.4 at 107.

The Viper ran a couple passes and his best was 12.4, but I don't remember the speed.

The 2000 Camaro SS with heads and cam, LT headers, 4.10 gears and DR's was the suprise of the day. He got a 11.95 at 118.43mph. That's not the highest trap speed he's ever had, 120.1 mph is, but that was his fastest pass ever. He got a 1.77 60 foot which was also a best for him.

The C5, driven by my girlfriend only made 2 passes and she was really afraid of beating her car and breaking something. She left the traction control on and just mashed the gas. Her best was 13.68 at 103. Yes that means the Mach 1 is faster than her car with her driving. I think with the T/C off I could have gotten it to go faster than the Mach, or at least as fast.

I'm starting to figure out this LT4. Lots of torque and it still pulls decently in the upper RPM's. Not quite like an LS2, but a lot better than an LT1 like I've had in an F-body. My worst was a 13.4 with a 2.08 60 foot. My best was a 13.197 with a 1.98 60 foot. I'm trapping at 108.50 mph so there is definately the potential to get a 12 second pass with some DR's.

When I bought the car I thought I was buying a 13.5-13.7 car. So as far as that goes I'm pleasantly suprised. There was a guy there today with an 05 C6 M6 that was stock. I think he was getting 2.02-2.06 60's and he was running 12.9's. A guy with a GT500 did 2 passes, and I think this is more a reflection of the driver, but his best was 13.25.

All in all I'm

Nice numbers, man!! Sounds like you got the launch, shifting, etc techniques down pretty well already.

The Mach made some pretty nice numbers, as well. I'm kinda surprised by the Viper's 12.4, and the H/C 'Maro would have been a few tenths quicker I'd have thought, but oh well. Sounds like a good time all around, and that's what counts.....

The guy who owns the Viper really isn't the best driver at drag racing. The car probably has another 2 or 3 tenths with a better driver. With the type of speed the Camaro has, he could if he got everything right, run a mid 11. Conditions weren't ideal. They were decent, but it was 78-82 degrees most of the time we were running. Drop 20degrees off the temp and I think we all would have been 2 tenths quicker.

The Mach, which I originally thought was stock had an intake or something that makes the scoop part of it work better.

Nice numbers. There's more to be had in your LT4. Shorty headers, SLP claw style cold air intake and free flowing mufflers.

Cool! Post some pics of your ride if you can. If you're ever in So. Cali I have something you may be interested in. They're mounted on '93 Vette wheels (9.5").

Here are some pics;
