Ok so heres how it went. I was just crusing around enjoying the goat, and I stop at a red light on a 3 lane blvd when I see a Silver Evo Mr at the gas station across the street. So i try reving it up to get his attention but nothing. So then I am hoping that he goes on the Blvd and heads my direction and what do you know, hes going my way. Like 10 sec before my light turns green he gets on thee Blvd and once my light turns green I am on the chase to catch up to him. He was going in and out of traffic but got stuck at a traffic light right before a bridge that I would say is like 1/2 mile long. When the light turns green I am like 2 cars in back of him but I manage to catch up and I am on the left lane while he is on the right lane and we hav a car right in between us. The rest of the road ahead was free and it was up hill (going up the bridge) So i decide to speed up a little hoping that he follows and he does! So then I drop it down to 3rd at ~50mph and floor it and he is right behind me. Towards the end of third I put like 3 cars between us (from my back bumper to his front bumper since he was in back of me. Then I drop it down to forth and punch it and in like 2 seconds I see him falling back pretty fast. I have no idea how fast I was going because I was concentrating on shifting because I am pretty new to it and it is my first manual. Anyway I slow down to about 40 and he gets next to me. He lowers his window and I put up three fingers for three beeps and he smiles. So i drop it to second and I beep three times and punch it. By the end of second I have like 1 car on him and then when I am about to go into third I started getting nervous about missing it because I always used to with my friends srt4 while racing. I slam the clutch in throw it into third and pop it out and its perfectly in and I start pulling like hell now. The 1 car length that I had on him went down to like 1/2 a car (his bumper was by my mirror or a little further back). The that 1/2 car length that he gained on me starts dropping really fast. By the end of 3rd I hav like 2-3 lengths on him and I shut it down because we were comming up to a light soon. When we get to the light he is smiling and tells me "you have way too much torque for me" then he asks how much HP I have and if it is the 6.0 or 5.7 as if he did not see it the whole time he was in back of me lol. Anyway I tell him that I just broke it in and I dont know how to shift that good yet. He then asks to go on green from a stop and I almost **** myself but Im like lets see how bad it will be. He revs it up but not that much (not the usual evo flooring it and poping the clutch out) and I rev it up to 3rpm (i have no idea how to launch it this was my first race) and lght turns green and I let off the clutch a bit too fast and get a lot of wheel spin and start going a little side ways (my T/C was off). He has like 1/2 on me so I ease up on the gas and kick it back down and it grips and I start gaining really fast. I drop it down to second (pretty easy) and I catch it perfectly, and I start pulling very hard. In about 1-2seconds I pass him and by the end of 2nd I have like 1 car on him. i catch third again amaizingly and I start pulling again but this time he did not gain on me when I went ito third. Then at about 80mph I shut it down with 3 cars on him. He catches up and tells me good race and we head our own ways.
The whole ride home I had the biggest smile on my face because I just got my first kill in the goat!! I did a lot better then I thought and now I actually have confidence in taking it to the track (since i can catch 3rd) Im guessing that I would have done a lot better if I actually knew how to shift and launch it since our 0-60 is faster than the Evo's and we kill them in the 1/4 mile. I am pretty happy with the results though.
I need a lot of help in this section so feel free to give me some suggestions.
