I didn't know that was a Cobra

A classis case of MYOB!

Just passed an on ramp when a 02 Mustang enters the far right from me. Didn't pay too much mind since I never get any of them to bite. A few lights ahead, he gets in the outside lane, I'm in the inside. By this time he notices me. I wait to see what he does, sure enough, he takes off like a bat outta hell. The wife gives permission, so off I go! We were in a curve going slightly to the right. I gunn it and ever so easily pass him. I get over and give him an opportunity to try again. Cruising in 3rd, I see him come up in the left lane hard. As soon as he gets next to me, I hit 2nd and gunn it, forever preventing him from passing. We give a thumbs up and continue on at a normal pace. Finally after I let him get in front of me I notice his bumper says "Cobra", and I see the badges on his car. When we stop at the next light , I roll down my window and tell him, I didn't know that was a Cobra.

The wife thought I was complimenting him and telling him his car was fast, seing it was a Cobra, now I knew why. But the reality was, I was telling him " WOW, thats a Cobra and I spanked it that easily"!

Absolutly no threat what so ever! But it was funn as hell just to race...again!

It would have been a 99 or 01 Cobra. Ford didn't make a 2000 Cobra because they way overated the hp of the 99 and spent most of 2000 fixing them. They made an 01 then skipped 02 while they perfected the 03 Cobra. If your car is stock it would not spank an 03-04 Cobra. They run very low 13's to high 12's just like the GTO. The 99 Cobra's that were not fixed by Ford are 14.1. The 01's and the 99's with the fix are 13.7 to 13.8.

Nice kill. I like Cobra's they taste like chicken.

You are right with the years... my stock 05 put down a 12.65 at 112 mph... it's all about who's drivin

I know it wasn't an 04 'cause the body styles were different. It must of been the earlier 'cause it wasn't the newer designed style of the '04. Don't know much or care for that matter about Mustangs. Either way, I didn't give him a chance. When I race someone, I give it my all, even if it's a Hyundai. If I for once take it easy, someone may get the upperhand. Never underestimate your opponent!

Congrats on the stock record. My old one was 12.895 at 109. I think that WAS the stock LS2 GTO record. What was your 60'. My best was a 2.06. Any tricks to pass on???
