I'm kinda thinking of going back to the future.

The Cavalier just really isn't avatar, or picture worthy.
Dammit Fergy, just get a C6 Z06 and be done with it. You know you want to.

Oh yeah, about the 08 Vette. He even popped his hood and it looked stock right down to the air filter. I don't know what they can get with a tune but it must be alot.

i put my car in reverse once during a race...i think the buslengths multiplied so quickly that it wasn't even funny. the guy asked what happened? i told him someone switched my shifter on me between the time i got in the car and the time i got to the line.and that i was in the wrong gear for a nice powerful take off so i backed out the race quickly.

I'm extremely analytical. It will take at least 2 months before I pull the triger.

Actualy the C6 Z06 has been pretty much eliminated. After finding out that I'm going to get hassled racing it at local tracks, I think I'd rather have a C6 or a real clean C5 Z06.

Before I'll do anything I'll drive a GT500 and a Saleen car too. I might just get a plain C5 too. I found a completely loaded, selective ride, HUD, Bose, sport seats, memory package, A4 with performance gears 02 with 25,000 miles for mid 20's too.

I looked at 2 different ZR1's this weekend too. An Admiral Blue and a Ruby Red 40th aniversery car. I liked that C4 I had a lot. The Ruby Red is a very rare car, only 40 ZR1's in that color is what the guy told me. They also had an Admiral Blue ZR1 that had 95 miles on it. The blue one I looked at had 32,000 miles and they wanted $40,000 for it.

I'll drive a GTO or two if I can find exactly what I'm looking for before the final decision is made. I'm in no hurry.

I've seen some funny stuff at the starting line of a drag strip.

A friend got a cell phone call just as he staged. He answered the phone for some reason too.

Another friend got a cell phone call while he was bracket racing and red lighted in the finals.

Another friend with a heads and cam Camaro left the traction control on. He launched hard and the thing started out hard and just about died. He was thrown back from the hard launch and then from the traction control cutting everything and it dieing smashed his head into the steering wheel. He had the worst case of whiplash ever from it.

Another guy left his parking brake on.

A friend on his first run ever at a strip with his modified Camaro launched at 3500 rpms and mashed the gas. It spun till it hit the rev limiter. He power shifted to second, spun through second and powershifted to 3rd. I guess the adrenaline was really flowing cause you guessed it, he spun through 4th and hit 5th. At this point he was about 200' down the track. When he hit 5th the car bogged and almost stalled.

A GTO would be an excellent choice but why not buy a C6 Z06 and debadge it?

With the wide body and the hood scoop, they would figure out real fast that it wasn't a C6. Also when I clicked off a mid elevens 1/4 mile there'd be an NHRA official at my window.

Low 12's very high 11's and not having to woryy about modifying the car would make me

C5 Z06 is probably still my favorite car. I was aiming for a C5 before I got the GTO, but the only one that was close to me that I was interested in was a 2000 Red Coupe with 59k miles, Bunch of codes in the system, the dealer was run by amatuers that didnt know how to sell a car to someone. They actually told me " Yeah man its a really great car, Actually our VP of sales drives it twice a day to bring us lunch, and on rainy days, man it is a fun car!" As if thats going to help make a sale... And of all that the car was priced at 23k, Rather gladly took the 06 GTO with only 15k miles for 22.7k.
Get the C5 Z06 Ferg!!!

My guess is they got some mods they forgot about, kinda like the guy you ran. There is a bunch of 08's with a CAI and a tune that are running that 11.7 number. Most of those cars match the speeds of 117-119.

Nice death, mod the crap out of it and go find him again, but tell him it's still stock. Oh except for a tune. LOL.

I don't care what some of those guys say I too belive someone forgot to mention the tune they got the week before. Hell the guy who ran the 11.71 was on there asking about tunes two weeks before his 100% stock run. Also it is very wierd to see trap speed increase so much with a better ET like that.

I have run into a few LS3's in my car and I must say the extra power can easily be erased by driver skill. Even when decently driven the largest loss I suffered was my front wheel at his rear.

Damn, those LS3 Vettes are nice, but definitely no shame in losing to one! I ran one a few weeks ago in my Z28 and only put about a car and a half to two cars on him from 60-140 (only time I've EVER gone that fast on the street and it was because no one was around and I wanted to see how I would do top end). This was with a 400rwhp Z28, so those LS3s are just plain sick!
