Every morning I see a red, early 90's Porsche on 526, driving like an ass(cutting people off, ect.) . One day I caught up with him, he cut me off. A few miles later he slowed to about 45-50, and waited for me. We lined up and ran. I easily pulled away from him. I slowed, to see if he wanted to do it again. He stayed waaaaaaay behind me. A week or so later I see the same guy in a newer, late 90s turbo Carrera, sporting a used carlot paper plate. We lined up again @ around 45mph. I dropped into 3rd, honked my horn and we ran. I slowly pulled away from him, then, hit my rev limiter. It was all over then. By the time i was in 4th he was gone.
This was before I did my cam and tune. Soooooo, every morning im on the lookout, to run him again. It impressed me that he was so taken by his initial loss that he went out and bought a new(er) car.
There are a couple of cars that got "Dealt Whit" back before all my mods, but I don't see them anymore. San Antonio is full of military, so maybe they have PCS's elsewhere. Nice double-kill BTW.

I only beat him the first time. He beat me the second time in his new car. Im trying to line up with him again, now that I have my new cam installed.
Same here with the military. Charleston has Air Force and Navy stationed here.
I used to hate Porsches -- until I saw a Porsche GT3 Cup race a couple of years ago. Those things are not only fast -- they corner and brake in ways we can only dream about.
Thing is, though, most Porsches are bought by people who are buying the name and image -- and are clueless about driving. A friend down in San Diego got into a romp in a canyon in his 3-series BMW against a new Carerra -- and he killed the guy when it should have been the other way around.

I loved Porsches. I bought an 86 Porsche 911 in 1989. I hated it. I traded it for a 1990 Acura Integra that was faster, better handling, more reliable, better in every way.
Porsche has come a long way, so I fell back into love with them, specifically the 911 Turbo.
Well last month I had a track day with a friend that has some awesome toys, pretty close to you BA, at Buttonwillow. One of his cars was a 911 Turbo. I think it was a 2003, but I'm not certain. The seats were about on par with the Corvette's maybe slightly better, and the C6 seats are barely acceptable. I didn't check the tires very closely, so maybe they needed attention, but the Porsche was more than a handfull. One of the guys there actually spun-out and went off into the grass. The boost was like an on off switch and as you were exiting a corner if you were agressive at all it either wanted to go way wide or the rear end would come loose. The ride was horrible. I always thought Porsches had the best brakes in the world, but my Vette was definately superior with just Hawk pads and Powerslot rotors. The Porsche got beat by the Vette in lap times and also by the GT500. Some of us were even quicker in the E55 AMG Mercedes.
What's the difference between a Porsche and a cactus????

Just out of curiosity, what mods do you have that you pulled on a 911 Turbo???

Right now I have:
CAI
LT headers
Flow Masters
portad/polished throttle body
ported/polished MAF case
B&M short throw
.588 lift cam (Comp pushrods&valvesprings)
HP Tuners software tune
When I lost to the Turbo Porsche I didn't have the cam and the tune. Now that I have these I would like to race him again. I have been leaving for work early every morning because he is usually on the highway around 7-715 AM.
I don't think my first post was clear. I beat hum in his 90-91 red car. A few days later he shows back up un the highway with a newer late 90s-early 2000s Porsche, sporting the word "Turbo" on the back, and a paper ldealer tag. I lost to this car.

Yeah, I saw that, but you said you pulled on him until you hit the rev-limiter, at which point he passed you. And you also stated you started at 45 in 3rd- shouldn't you have been in second??? The reason I ask is because those are high 11 - low 12 sec cars, and it would take a healthy car to pull on one.
I'm not trying to dissect your story or call you a liar by any means, just hoping for some clarificatrion. I just got kinda confused....

That's how it happened. Maybee I should have dropped to 2nd.(maybee he wasn't trying?!) I was at 88 or so in 3rd when my rev limiter hit.
