I was heading home from work, saw this car zipping up behind me with a big rear wing and a tiny front hood scoop. I didn't know what the hell it was. I was already running 70 in a 55 and he stayed right on my ass. We were on a 2 lane service road running along the interstate and I slowed up a bit to see what he'd do. He stayed behind me, so I sped up to 80 and he was right behind be. I slowed down to 60, this was too much for him, he got up beside me, that's when I saw it was a dodge neon srt 4, I'd never seen one before and new they had been replaced with the upcoming calibur srt4. I hate to say it, it wasn't a bad looking car.
If he would of stayed in his lane and kept going I would have let him go, but as soon as he had me passed, he zipped in front of me and maintaned speed, not speeding up a bit. This pissed me off, so I moved over into the left lane and sped up but didn't floor it. He sped up too. We were coming into a violent "S" turn at the top of a hill with a redlight light. I floored it and he floored it and I got in front of him and slowed down to make the light, which was red. So I had to stop, he's pissed and staring holes in the back of my head cuz I beat him to the light, lol, anyways, light turns green and I cut right hard and hammer it, drifting through the intersection. There were no white/grey squalls of smoke that I've left behind in the past doing that do to leaving the trac on, but he knew right away when he saw me do that that he didn't have anything for me. I know it was a neon, but a kill's a kill.
(I don't dare take the traction control off anymore because I about totalled my car 2 months ago when I hammered down from a rolling start going about 20-25 mph with the trac off and the car launched itself sideways at an instant 90 degree angle clockwise when it shifted from 1st to 2nd (I got the A4) and I blame part of that on the 2/3rds worn out oem Bridgestone Potenzas, part of it because it was 90 some degrees out and the roads were hot and slick, and part because 400 pounds of torque can bite you in the ass whenever it wants too.
Anyways, after paying 1400 at the dealership's paint and body to put the SAP front fascia extension on to cover up the scrapes across the front end and reattach the grey rear bumper insert that fell off in the yard I launched into barely missing a tree and fire hydrant that says the GTO in big letters across the back and putting my SAP rear wing on, I learned my lesson.)
Yeah, my first night in my 06 M6 with my freind Dustin in the car, I do a mad burn out with the Track Control off. My rear end swerved left and right that when I let go the car was facing the curb when it gained tracktion, almost ran up the curb. I smoked the hell out of those tires though. It's was my first burn out in the Goat... Ahhhh... Memories...
I drive without tracktion control all the time, but I know how to stay within slot of keeping trackion. I only go crazy when I'm sure cars aren't around. Otherwise, I only use tracktion control when it rains. I live in Cali, so that doesn't happen often. I know, we've got it bad.

Dusty, don't sleep on those SRT4's. One will bite you in the a$$. You also have to look out for the SS/SC Cobalt. Apparently Cobalts, have had habits of vanquishing SRT8's, and GTO's!!
Hear ya! had a SRT-4 howl up next to me on Wednesday nite. Definitely Modded. He wanted to try the GTO. I didn't. Bad day at the hospital, I never get used to working with still born families. We did not race, but he sounded tough. Probably best.

Well I know that SS/SC Cobalts are fast, but to claim to reel in stock GTO's, SRT8's, and Cobras is ridiculous. I'd believe that the SRT4 Neons are capable.

Why's that Venom. There's SC Cobalts turning low 12's without much trouble. That's almost a second faster than a stock GTO/Cobra/SRT8.
The real question is how deep are your pockets????
Dude, I have an SRT-4 and I have a buddy with a high 12 second cobalt but you are exactly right. The 4 bangers aren't going to real in the V8 without mods. A moderately modded Skittle like a stage 2 with supporting mods would be a good race for The V8's. Big Turbo and stage 3 Srt-4's are usally in the 11's & Low 12's.
