Street legal drags at California Speedway

Is anyone near California Speedway planning on going to the Street Legal racing on May 14th or one of the later dates? Let me know. I'm about a 25 minute drive away. Before I start dumping money into mods, I'd like to get my baseline numbers out of the way.

It sounds like fun. I was just there a couple of weekends ago for the AMA race where Mladin broke down. Fun race. Maybe I can make the trip. It's about 1 1/2 hour away for me.

Screw that straight-line crap-- are they ever gonna open the Cal Speedway roadcourse track to the public?

I'm not sure about the roadcourse track. But before I became a member of Wild West Corvettes in Victorville, there was a time that some of the members were allowed to hit the big oval or whatever shape the track is. Now that is something I could go for. I've gone 155 in 5 gear in my "93 Vette and 150 in my "98 Vette (auto) on open back roads. But on the track I wouldn't have to worry about all the animals (jack rabbits, coyotes, cats, dogs) that frequently cross the roads which I've hit warp speed on.
