The 'shift' key is on both sides of the keyboard. Or do you post from your phone?

Race him and see what happens. Just be safe and don't let your ego cloud your judgement.

Having recently encountered the “Law” in my GTO I would be super careful as previously stated here. Straight line only, back roads and in the daytime. Anything can happen when you are WOT.

I would also not get over-confident; STI’s are formidable opponents and he has some decent Mods.

OK – I am done preaching. Be sure to Video the race and any related carnage…

Lol you think your GTO is king its obvious.

STi's are great cars and you shouldnt act all big and bad, is it worth it etc.

My fathers STi has the turbo back, and cobb acessport running the stage2 map and the acessport says its running 350hp/385tq which isnt as much as your gto, but its also an off the shelf ultra conservative tune and no slouch and those levels on AWD = lots of fun. Off the line the STi will jump you good, and lets not even get into turning.

The GTO is a great car, but its much more 1 dimensional than a STi, and there are countless STi's around that would stomp you from a roll in your only dimension. For all you know that guy could have a turbo kit making more WHP than you are making BHP. Mods are cheap and effective on those cars

Not bashing the GTO, im here because im in the market for one as my next car, but fanboyism is annoying and i was hoping to see less of it here than tuner sites, but to no avail

Hey Apex, you've got lots of facts correct there. I think we can all agree that when it comes to the straight line, stock for stock, 2005-2006 GTO does win... and there is reviews to back that up on edmunds videos, road and track, and maybe more. We can also agree that the GTO stand very little chance of even keeping up with the STI on corners. Knowing an Evo IX and the STI are a drivers race, Ive beat a stock Evo before, so I'm pretty confident when I see random STI's on the streets, but nothing could have prepared me for the STI I ran into in april. I have a thread in the "Race and Kill" section, called "Stage 3 STI?". I went only until about 3rd gear with him, but I can honostly say if we kept going, we would have taken me. He just said it had a stage 3 turbo on it. The car looked completely stock from outside, never would have guessed. So like Apex already stated.. Just dont get TOO confident, he just might outmod you without you even knowing it.
