No GTO

Cars is still in the shop to diagnose its safety shut down mode. I have 2 deals on the burner to get rid of the GTO. Beautiful car but it has spent have its life in the shop. If it doesn't let me drive her, then what good is it.

Could the "skip Shift "eliminator and/or HID headlamps play any role in having the safety mode kick in?

I am just looking for anything here to help me keep this car.

Well if this would help i got hid's on mine and have no problem with them i know when i first installed them they would blink alot on and off but thats because i had them on daytime running lights and there suppose to be on ON lights. I really dont see that this could be your problem but then who knows.

I haven't heard of any problems with the Cags being the cause of problems with anything but anything is possible. I would think you would have gotten safety mode readings right after you installed it if that was the cause.

They should be able to identify the cause when they hook up the gizmo under your dash. Maybe a new BCM, or PCM is the fix?

I always thought it was because of a faulty throttle position sensor or the part on the throttle body. If I remember correctly EEZGOAT had the same problem 2 or 3 years ago.

It is a faulty pedal sensor. If the dealer has any clue, they will know to just replace it. Of course, we all know that all dealers aren't equal. I don't remember Gerald telling me of any problems with his GTO regarding the pedal sensor, although I could be wrong.

He probably forgot to mention it, it's been 3 years;

safety mode

Would one involve Jewish Lightening?

Seriously sucks your goat spends too much time in the barn when its the season to run thru the hills... good luck brother.

And +3 on the pedal sensor as the cause of your current headache.

Thanks brother Goats for all of your thoughts and suggestions. At least I feel secure in knowing I'm not causing this to happen.

My wife and I took a ride to Westchester looking at houses today and all I could say was that I wish we had the GTO for the beautiful ride on the Taconic Parkway. What a perfect day for a ride.

I'll probrably wind up keeping her (the GTO), because I still have a love of the car. Hopefully, I'll have it for next weekend. I'll let you know whaqt was replaced to resove the problem.

Thanks again and motor on.

Rasp,
I grew up in Yonkers and still have a few friends that live in the old hood, most moved to Dutchess.... TSPW is a great ride from Hawthorn to Albany. Back in the day, I also liked the Saw Mill from the city line to 684.

Red.

That's too funny Red.
It is an outrageous ride through country. You get the feeling of an American Autobaun on the Taconic, however lots of control to stay the speed limit is necessary. There were state troopers scattered all over the place yesterday. Being in an minivan, I had no issues.

I work in the Bronx now so we are looking to re-locate in Putnam/Duchess counties.
Don't know Yonkers that well but I pass it each day.
