Possible new owner of an 06 goat

Hey guys,
I am seriously considering getting an 06 Gto for the wife. That way I can enjoy it.I have a few questions though. Is it posiible to turn this into a 10 second car with the stock bottom end? I realize forced induction (like my truck has) is necessary as well as other add ons.

Also should I get an auto or 6 speed? I believe the 6 speed is a T56 like my truck. Which color and interior is the most rare and sought after?
You guys have a real cool forum and I look foward to getting a goat soon Bill

auto if you want to do turbo. 10's are definately possible with stock bottom end and forced induction with other mods.

Let me know how it goes. Lay the pipe the "Right Way" and she'll give in.

Nah, who's kidding who? Hopefully she give in anyway

What forced induction you got on the srt10. If it's the Hennessey turbo kit I have seen the videos, OH MY GOD. 10's with no other mods on et streets.

Its all motor stock.I added a paxton Novi 2000 kit.You have to remember my truck weighs 4975 lbs witjout the spare and the driver, so it needed a little bit of help to really get it to move.I am a truck guy that has allways bought GM.I have a 2000 Tahoe and had a blazer extreme as well. But Gm didnt have anything in the truck line as performance oriented as the Dodge.

A guy at work bought an 05 Gto last year and I liked it.I always joke with him about his car being slow, but I know they are quick from the factory.Thats why I want to get one.

I wish I could afford the Hennessey set-up.But I , as well as many others on the Viperalley forums will tell you that John Hennesey is a very bad business man and borders on being a crook. He does good work , but has crappy customer service.

I would love to buy a Goat already set-up with upgraded axles and a turbo set-up.

Don't buy with the setup in it. Buy the car cheap as possible (ls2), and then mod it yourself. BMR will bulletproof it and you can do it yourself. Then wait patiently for a good turbo setup. A friend of mine went to SEMA and saw that APS twin turbo setup and he is a turbo guy. He says that the setup looks to be made for ease of install and looks. It looked cheap to him to include the turbo units. My buddy is also sponsored by a turbo company and he is in the aftermarket mod business. He will be pushing them to make a good turbo kit for the GTO. I would like for it to be a twin kit for the obvious benefits over a larger single turbo. I spent some time in houston over the holidays and noticed that alot of people are switching to twins. I did not know why until I reasearched it. I personally do not like the STS setup on the gto. The twin c6 setup appears to be cool and the location of the air intakes is right behind the taillights, within the the rear bumper. The GTO is under the car. I personally don't care if you get a water proof cover for your filter, I like to drive all the time and it doesn't make sense to have your air filter under the car for everyday use. There's a formula running around here with the upgraded unit on his slightly modded ls1. I heard he runs high 7's with the upgraded unit and intercooler. I should run high 7's fat and on all motor.
