Rest Alert

The other day I was washing my car and gave it a full detail, wax, etc - anyway I was listening to the radio with the key in the ignition the whole time and after about an hour or so it started chiming and a message popped up saying "rest alert" with a picture of a tree. Is this some kind of low battery warning or what? I figured if I turned the car on it would go away but it didnt. Only turning the key off completely and back on made it disappear.

Whats this all about?

I drove my goat to Sturgis last year. what that is, is a driving brake alarm. it does not know the difference if your driving or not. at a set time if the ignition is on. for more than 3 hours. it will come up to remind you that you need a brake from driving. And yes it will keep doing this ever 3 hours. that's all. and if you hit the mode button just right of the steering column it will shut up . but yes the ignition does need to be shut off to clear the code. the computer wants to see a brake (AKA) fuel stops or what ever. don't be alarmed by this it's normal.

The Rest Alert is normal, after so many miles, or minutes the feature will activate.. You can deactivate it. Follow the directions in your manual.

My Rest alert came on the day I purchased my car. I think it is set at the factory for every three hours of constant driving. EASY RESET
