I have decided to trade my 05 GTO back for my 74 Trans Am with a 455 engine and 400 turbo transmission. The numerous difficulties as you know I have had has predicated this move. Saturday , I will close the deal. The dealer will pay 16000 for the car and I know that is low but unfortunately, as many of you new GTO owners know, the values have dropped drastically in the past 12 months. I wish I could say I was 100% sure to lose the GTO, cause I am not. But I do know I there are parts of me that do love this car. The modern GTO is such a misunderstood car for most, but a great car that deserves a place in Auto history. I hope that day comes. But for now, I will return to the sure thing that is a collector car.
I'll stay in touch and let you know what happens.
You all are great....Thanks.
Damn sorry to hear that. I have been seeing that you have been having alot of problems with it. Times like this it just might be for the best. Good luck.
I meet tomorrow at 8 am for the trade, but I still reserve the right to refuse of course.
Regardless I will still be here on this forum. After all, it is a Pontiac.
I'll let you know and I'll post pics of the TA as well.
Just like the screaming chicken on the TA hood, I chickened out of the deal so I am still a goat.
The TA needed too much work and money and I suppose, I'm not yet willing to part with the GTO despite the difficult times we have had. Perhaps with the new main brain, my safety mode issues are over.
