Should i buy a GTO?

Hi everyone,

I am a 23 year old in Midland Michigan and just bought a 2007 Monte Carlo SS!
I instantly love V8's, which has now made me want another bigger V8 preferably in a 2 door car.

The GTO's look good and sound great, I am going to test drive one tonight as well. But I am 6'7'' and I am not sure if I could use it as a daily driver.

My biggest question is are these cars as much fun as they seem, and are they good value for money?? I see then going for 13-17K with anywhere from 20-40K miles on them.

Just wondering if my next car should be a GTO!!! Thanks guys....

at 6'7" you need to make sure you fit in one but if you fit in the Monte Carlo, you should be ok. I banged my head getting in and out of the car for the first week of ownership before I "adjusted" (I'm 6'1")

My GTO is the best/funnest/fastest car I have ever owned. It is my daily driver and currently there is no car (say <$50k) that I would trade my car for. I bought it because it was the most car per $ period and it still is.

I didn't realize at the time that I was also joining the "muscle car" culture and didn't know what to think when everyone tried to race me...that was then, now, they know I will waste them and either look the other way or want to "see what it's got" (true challengers are few and far between)

However, it might be a sketchy daily driver in the Michigan winters but people have done and do it

Bryan,
I'm 6'6" and I love my 2004 GTO. I tried it on like I try on size 13 EEE shoes. It fits like a glove. I routinely drive 4-5 hours at a clip and the seats in the GTO are by far the best seats GM ever put on four wheels. Get yourself one and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. BTW, my other car is a GTO, too. It's a bit longer in the tooth, but then, so am I.

Hey thanks guys, the test drive was alot of fun. The one I drove wasn't stock, had exhaust, intake, and a hot cam...no mid or low range torque at all....plus the guy who owned it put small little 15inch fatty wheels and tires on it...

So like you said, fun car, great to drive, wonderful steering, great brakes, a good engine i guess...if you like 400+ horsepower

These cars are alot of fun, I would love to drive a stock one to compare.....

And so the GTO hunt begins......
