GM Holden and eBay.com.au are offering you the chance to win the last of Australia’s undisputed 21st century sports hero, the legendary Monaro.
The very last Monaro to come off the Holden production line - a striking special edition Monaro CV8, has been customized by the Holden Design team to farewell the much loved Monaro and cement Monaro’s reputation as a performance car collectable classic.
The customised Torque paint is a classic 'muscle car' orange-yellow painted in-house by the Holden Design Fabrication team. This colour, with a fine metallic highlight, is a modern twist on the 1960s Monaro yellows.
Extensive customisation also exists throughout the vehicle – a full list of details is below. The last Monaro is now being auctioned on eBay Motors, with all proceeds being donated to the Leukaemia Foundation.
The car can be seen on the Holden stand at the Melbourne Motorshow, so bid now to own your very own piece of Australian automotive history.

The modern Monaro, a reincarnation of the 1960s and 1970s performance leader, has captured the Australian public’s imagination and beaten all comers as the nation’s best selling sports car for the past three years.
The coupe has also become an international car, selling in the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East and New Zealand under various brands and appearing in movies and television series.
Holden has sold 40,000 coupes worldwide representing the brands of Holden, Holden Special Vehicles, Pontiac, Vauxhall, Vauxhall VXR or Chevrolet.
Monaro has strengthened Holden’s position in the global automotive business and reinforced Holden’s design, engineering and manufacturing reputation but most of all, Monaro ignited something deep within the Australian car culture and made people think about locally built performance cars as capable of competing with anything in the world.
Holden has a special place in Australia’s history as the manufacturer of the first all-Australian car, the 48-215 (FX). Since 1948, when the famous Holden 48-215 took to the road, a succession of landmark models have driven themselves into the Australian way of life. Along the way Holden has acquired a significance and status all of it own.
Today, Holden employs more than 8,000 people Australia wide and has produced more than six million vehicles including Australia’s favourite car for the 10th consecutive year, the Holden Commodore. As part of General Motors, the world’s largest automotive company since 1931, Holden is evolving from a domestic manufacturer into an internationally competitive exporter of vehicles, engines and automotive expertise to a range of global markets.
