Throttle Body Mod

Is there any noticiable gain in torque/hp with a FAST 90mm throttle body?
I have SW LTs and catbacks and LPE CAI. No other mods on 06 LS2.
If I go with FAST 90mm, do I have to change the intake manifold too or will it bolt on?
Throttle body is over $400, manifold over $800. Don't want to spend if no real gains.
Thanks.

LS2 has 90 mm TB stock, I'm not sure you'll see any gains.

You would be wasting the money on the TB. I have the FAST intake and it's noticeable. I only got it cause the insurance was replacing my factory intake manifold so I only paid half the price. If you can afford the FAST intake then it's nice, especially if you are going to get a bigger cam or force induction.

I dont even think you can use that on the 05/06 since they are drive-by-wire and not drive-by-cable like the LS1s. But the manifold you can go with with some modifaction for the LS2.

Just out of curiosity, why did the OE intake have to be changed and why was the insurance taking care of it? Just wondering.

WELL! I have a little accident as where I damaged mostly my hood and the intake manifole as well as core support and associated hardware. Cost of the stock manifold was $400+. The repair shop said if I wanted to upgrade to anything, now would be the time since I only had to pay the difference for the parts. The difference was $413. Also that's how I got the Gravana Ram Air hood and SAP front grill and bumper (the hood was $70 cheaper compared to stock). All in all, I paid $1086 when I picked up the car and $250 of that was the deductible. Not bad for the amount of money I saved.

you can replace the stock TB but there is some other hardware to be changed and i believe you need to reprogram the computer because the T/C is tied into the drive by wire setup. but dont qutoe me on that, ive seen ls2 engine build ups with the Fast 90mm and i believe that is what was done. power gains are 10-15hp due to the different angle the fast is, it allows better air flow
