Took the goat out of the barn for first time since Mid October!!!

Well, It has been around mid October since I last was out in the '06 Goat. I was injured while working on Oct 29th having what ultimately was a high ankle sprain, bone bruising, and some irriated swollen ligaments around the ankle. "The right aka slayer ankle". For those a little slow my right foot that works the pedal and brake. So during this time that I have been off I programmed the goat with the superchips programmer, added a poweraid throttle body spacer, and AEM Brute force Intake with a K/N prefilter wrap in which I rotated the k/n logo around on filter so no one could see it was K/N wrap.

On thanksgiving my wife said it would be a nice day to take your car out to Delaware over to her moms for dinner. Well, me with my bum ankle it meant she was gonna drive my baby with me in passenger side. So we headed off to grandma's house and while merging onto I-295 major highway before the Delaware Memorial Bridge I told her to hold on the wheel with both hands and to put the pedal down. i told her to let go of throttle if it starts to get squirelly. So as we start to merge she jumps on her a little bit and let me tell you, the goat started sucking in that cool fall air and the goat opened her eyes and came to life. It even felt and sounded good from where I was sittin. We were cruising over the bridge and saw a new model gt mustang blue in front of us in fast lane. I told her to move over and please just go by this guy. She pulled up behind him for a bit and then moved over passing the stang making sure he heard that the goat was awake. Anyway that beautiful thanksgiving day the goat went safetly home later in the evening back to the barn!

Just today, I drove an 8 mile trip to my therapy office for the very first time. I was trembling as I got behind the wheel of her as she sat warming up rumbling waiting to be taken out in the pasture to play. I headed off to therapy with my ankle aching a little bit. Looked in my rear view and saw a purple dodge ram with cowl induction style hood. Just hopin' he would try to pull up on my rear so that i could show him what a goat likes to eat.(Rams). I went to therapy without a kill or incident.

Once out of therapy i was cruising closer to home without anything to mess with and while traveling at about 40mph I decided to give the goat a little kick. We'll let me tell you she opened her eyes once again and awoken. The rear end swung out to the right while I gripped the wheel like Richard Petty. I was a Rusty Wallace fan anyway. I immediately eased off the throttle as she straightened back up and then once again got into her some more. The engine just roared, which I didnt know goats did. I dont know if it was because I have not driven in a while or that my seat of the pants dyno said dam i feel those modifications you made!!!! WoooHOOOO! Oh, and while this was taking place my odometer went past 1,000.miles. It is almost one year this january when I saw her gleaming at me in my so called brother in laws dealership!!! And that is why this month im gonna give my goat a gift of breathing a little better most likely with a custom flowmaster desinged exhaust! Still a chance I may go with corsa or magnalfow, a chance. I know I drug this on a little bit but I just wanted to share my moment i had today with my beloved goat. Out of twenty seven cars i have had in my short time driving of 20 years she is my favorite!!! Enjoy fellas!!!!!

NJgoat, I think you have missed your "calling" you should have been a writer!!! Nice story, very descriptive...

Must be a major drag to put your girl away for the winter, but on the bright side your mile's will be kept in check.

Buy SLP and LMI...Wake-up the whole town...

Driving the Goat IS physical therapy for your right foot/ankle.

Thanks, never thought about it. Maybe when I retire in 10 more years at age 47, I'll take up a column in a magazine LOL!, or join a GTO chapter and write the news letters!!! Thanks. Hopefully next spring I'll beable to write some good kill stories in the race and kill section. Days are number for that bad weather to make its appearence for good!! I'll take her out once in a while during winter when i know the roads are dry and salt is blown off streets!! We get that nasty stuff too in South Jersey!
