value of oem grill?

anybody know what the value of the oem grill is? i paid 90 bucks to have the dealership install the autocross grill for me and they don't give me my original grill back. i have to make a few phone calls, get my grill back almost a week later, and it's all broke up, the hard plastic ears around the edges....some are there, some aren't. the breaks are fresh because the plastic where the ears used to be is still powdery. if it's worth some $, i might try and get them to give me a new one, if it's not worth anything, i won't bother cuz i'm obviously staying with the autocross grill.

I am surprised that they didn't offer your parts back. My old volvo mechanic used to give me everything in a box, which I used to find annoying and now actually appreciate it.

They probably aren't worth much, especially trying to find someone who will buy them. Ebay might work though, You could probably get like 50 bucks total, maybe

The MSRP for the front left and front right grille pieces are $73.09 and $37.08, respectively. Fred Beans, a discount OEM parts supplier, sells them for $49.60 and $25.16.

Hate to tell you, but it sounds like your dealer installed your SAP grille incorrectly. To do the job right, you need to remove the front bumper. Sounds like they busted your OEM grille out -- then shoved the SAP into place. I've heard of other dealers doing this.

I'd stop by and talk to the service manager:

Find out how they installed the SAP grilles. They should be held in place by a series of razor blade things that slide onto the grille's tabs. You might be able to see them by looking through the hood latch hole. If they're not there, you're going to have to go to a body shop (NOT this dealer's) and have them done right. If the tabs aren't there -- be damn sure you get them from the dealer.

If the service manager starts acting like a jerk (oh, it looks fine -- you don't need those tabs, the Elmer's glue we used is perfectly safe), then got after them for a set of replacement grilles. Again, if they did the job right, there is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO WAY the grilles can get broken. You just lift the razor blade things off with a pair of pliers -- and the grilles push out.

Hope that helps.
