What do you guys think?

Hey guys I just wanted to get your opionon on this. I am going to be getting a goat in about a week or two and i just wanted to know what you guys recommened. I was debating about getting a A4 or a M6. I drove two goats and they where both auto. I loved both of them. My current car is a manual and i was getting a litlle sick of it. Do you guys think i'll get sick of the M6 on the goat and i should just go with the A4?

Well most people are going to tell you to decide what you want, while others are going to say the A4 is quicker.

The A4 will be quicker than a poorly driven M6 but the M6 is faster everywhere else.

And I don't know what your current car is but the GTO has alot of low end grunt so you won't need to shift a whole lot in traffic. It will still be annoying in stop and go though.

Unless you do a lot of heavy traffic commuting, go with the M6. Of course, if you get into heavy modding for the drag strip, most will tell you an auto is the way to go. I've heard a few (A4) guys complain about not getting a manual, but I've never heard any (M6) guys wish they had gotten an auto. Not that I'm bashing auto's, they rock if that is your driving style. But, if you want more control (I freely admit I'm a control freak) of your driving experience, then you have to get the M6. Either way, dude, you're getting a GOAT!!

Thanks a lot guys for all the feedback. I think i have made up my mind with going with the M6. but now i am in a nother dilemma of which color i should get. Theres a 04 quicksilver really close to my house i like the quicksilver but i like black as well. There is a black on about hour drive away from where i live. i dont know what to pick.

Silver will look better longer, hide dirt, scratches, dents. Silver will be cooler and easier to cool in the summer. Silver is a perfect sleeper color especially for 2004 (no hood scoops).
Black looks awesome when perfect, that is only once and the first owner was the only one to enjoy that DAY. Black will show every stone chip and every grain of dust and every swirl mark.
I'd go with Blue, you can't go wrong there.

Once you go black, you'll never go back! Zaino works wonders for dark colored vehicles. BTW, as mentioned earlier, unless you're going to mod for the track, the M6 is about as much fun as you can have. You may also want to consider an '05 or '06 over the '04. 50 extra ponies only adds to the fun!

The M6 has a few problems, most of which can be cured with the GMM ripshifter and disabling that cursed skip shift POS. A lot of people complain about the clutch as well. But for overall quickness in traffic the auto is better. You never get caught in the wrong gear. If the car is going to be your toy and not your everyday driver, get the M6. If it will be your primary transportation, get the automatic.

I love black, but it takes some work to keep it looking good. Red really shines and is easier. Both red and black need chrome wheels to set the color off. Silver is classy and lets you see the lines of the car. The painted wheels look fine with the silver. I actually don't think the car comes in a bad color. Hey, no green, no tan, no brown.......

Especially about the color comment. However, just for context, the skip shift is a $20 fix so don't let that deter you. As for the shifter, it isn't the best stick ever designed, but once you start driving it you'll quickly grow accustomed and won't think about it again (imo). I don't know who complains about the clutch, but my stock clutch has held out great and I'm putting down 453 rwhp.
