What make and model were the police cars in the movie Mad Max?

The Road Warrior is 10x's better than Mad Max. Rent it and you'll see that the sequel is more enjoyable than the original. Trust me on this one.

I believe this is a 77'. I'd been in OZ in 77' and checked one out while walking past a dealer in Melbourne. To me the car's lines look like a scaled down version of the 70 ~ 72 GTO's. You be the judge.
