What is the best onshelf wax ?

Like to know what all of you think is the best wax/polish that you can purchase in any auto supply store off the shelf? Okay, I spelled McGuiars wrong. its is 2am. Also if your choice of wax/polish is not on pole please post your favorite. Curious to see what most people use on their rides. Oh, and the reasons for choosing your favorite wax/polish would be helpful. Thanks.

I like the Meguiar`s mist and shine. It`s like a waterless wash and wax in 1 product.

I like meguiars NXT gen tech wax, it would probabbly last years on my GTO, even though it got it about once a month. It still lasts a long time on my DD. My paint is especially deep by itself, but that NXT really did do a good job for off the shelf. I have switched to P21s/s100 mostly though (I have to mail order it).

I haven't used an "off the shelf" wax since I got the goat 3 years ago. The only polish I used on the goat is zaino, but on my previous car, a 2000 grand am gt, I used turtle wax carnuba wax paste on it. Haven't tried any of the newer products like ICE or any of the meguiar's stuff, I'm happy w/ my zaino.

Meguiars NXT liquid synthetic polymer acrylic.
  • Easy on
  • Easy off (I like to drive em, not obsess over em)
  • Doesn't clog up a polishing cloth very quickly
  • Doesn't muck up unpainted surfaces too badly
  • Seems to last fairly well
  • Not that expensive
  • The polymer has a UV blocker
  • Nice appearance
Actually, I've tried a few of the liquid synthetic polymer acrylic products (Turtle Wax 2001, Blue Coral, Eagle 1) and they all appear to be pretty similar. I imagine they're all sharing the same basic acrylic polymer chain with maybe some proprietary additives in each one. Actually, I'd be really surprised if all this stuff wasn't coming out of one or two production facilities. I doubt all these small brands can support their own research and development plus manufacturing.
