04 GTO vs 06 GC SRT 8 Vid

I know, I know....the GTO had a major increase in HP from 04 to 05 (the first vid was the current model GTO), but just thought I'd post this one for fun:

I don't know anything about the GC SRT 8, sounds like a cool vehicle, and it may very well be as fast or faster than the 05/06 GTO. But just as a reality check, the times posted above are very crappy for an 05/06 GTO with a good driver--5.5 0-60 and 14s quarter --those look more like 04 times to me. To do that poorly, I imagine they left the traction control on at launch.

BTW,

Don't feel bad about your 13mpg. I drive a short distance to work through town, no highway driving, and that's what I get as well.

There are several srt8 GC and srt8 Chargers that are at our local drag strip. I have never seen either model run in the 13's stock, all run low 14's. Next time I am at the track I will try to shoot some video. (Yeah it's got a Hemi!) SO!

I just picked it up a little over two weeks ago. This is a limited production vehicle (only a little over 3,000 made for US and Canada for the 06 year) and it is being offered at employee pricing for the rest of the month!!!! That equated to me picking it up for $5K under MSRP
Nice ride!! Looks pretty bad azz... How much are they going for at employee pricing?

Ya but look at their MPG

"We have to warn you, however, that if ya wanna play, you're gonna pay — we averaged just 11.7 mpg (against EPA ratings of 12 city/15 highway)"

Don't know what race the camera man was looking at, seemed like the goat eased out by inches. Still a close race though.
