Just so you all know, the GC is under 4000lbs. Unibody and a lightweight AWD system are the helper there. The SRT-8 GC is not a vehicle you ever want to sleep on. They are faster then the Cayanne Turbo and they have AWD so launching is just a matter of mashing the pedal.

I checked the website. The SRT-8 weighs in at 3994.

Not true jacoby. We have had disscussions about this on the GC SRT8 board. The Jeep website is incorrect believe it or not. The actual curb weight for the GC SRT8 is 4850lbs.

Here's a good link for specs if interested:

Look at the gearing on that thing, 3.73 diffs with a 3.59 first gear, that's 13.39:1 overall gearing in first vs our 10.28:1 (manual) or 10.59:1 (auto).

If the GTO had that kind of gearing we'd be pulling high 11s stock. A set of 4.56 rear gears should do the trick with the stock 6-speed gearing.

If the trick is melting tires into warm black goo.

The only thing I hear in the video "He's beatin a GTO", what is the final 1/4 ET? Who won? Looks pretty foggy to me.

John.
