Import Rehab....

So, I've had my new 06 GTO for about a week, (...and they told me there were no more to be purchased...) and after 1,000 miles of smiles and glee am happy to say that I don't miss the former rice rocket.

I previously owned an extremely modified 02 WRX sedan, w/JDM STi Engine and tranny swap just to name a few, which I have to admit was a little faster out of the hole. To put it in perspective, I think my mod list contained more parts than all advertisements in an import magazine combined.

Regardless, this GTO rocks. It's ton's of power, handling is great once you learn to live with some body-roll and steering with the throttle rather than the wheel.

On long trips, this car is simply amazing, and the only itch I have in regards to modifying it are Rims, Ipod interface and the JHB Gauge cluster along w/blue tooth.... maybe a pedder's kit to make this hammer a little more precise..... I'm in what my friends and family call "Tuner Rehab" so I'm much more restrained, and am actually very satisfied with how the car looks and drives as it is, meaning that the above are optional, rather than bankruptcy inducing cravings.

Anyway, this seems like a great place to come gather info, and I definately appreciate the good-faith other GTO members have ofered and exhibited.... something I didn't think would be found outside the Subaru comunity.... so here I am.

lol.... thanks.... but I like this whole "All Motor" thing. No lag... Plus, 6 liters at WOT sound pretty awesome.

Welcome man! I know what you were going through! I got mine in Nov and previoulsly had a neavily modified Tiburon and Accord. I was in to the imports and had to have the goat to get back to the roots man! Enjoy the car and you will love modding this car!
