New to the forum, looking for a GTO.

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new daily driver and I test drove my first GTO today. It was a 2006 6speed with 16k miles 100% stock. The car was nice but it felt like it was missing something... My question is what is the aftermarket like for the LS2's? If I were to pick up one I would definitely have to make some changes on it. I am coming from a vert new edge Cobra and I can almost build a car from scratch with aftermarket parts... My hopes with my next car are that I would be in the high 11's without losing any drivability. I currently run a 12.7 at 111 mph and I have basically maxed out my cobra (I’m not looking to spray or boost my daily driver). My question is how hard is it to get a GTO in the 11's in a N/A set up?

Here are some pics of my Cobra when I first bought it, almost in stock condition.

Nice cobra and welcome to the forum.

I have owned a few fast cars- including a mustang mach 1 as well. My 05 GTO is stock regarding the engine and my biggest gripe would be the shifter.
What did you do to your Cobra?

Spray I have been told is the quickest and cheapest way to get enough power for results on the the track and street.

I don't think the typical bolt on's like headers, exhaust, air-intake will get you .
to -11's.

A magnacharger will help though.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My car is a 1999 and it is nice but it’s not giving me what I am looking for in a daily driver. Here are the upgrades that I have on my cobra;

Hooker headers
Hooker off road x pipe
Flow master cat back
Jlt Ram air intake/K&N Cone filter
BBk twin 62mm tb
Under drive pulleys
Ported stock intake (upper and lower)
90mm Mass air flow
SCT Livewire
Custom tune for my upgrades (American muscle)

With those upgrades and a set of 245/45/17 fusion ZRi's (junk) I made my run of 12.7 at 111 (2.2 60 foot ). My next upgrade would have been a set of slicks for the track and a stiff set of gears. After driving a buddy’s car with a set of 4.30's I knew that with a set of gears would kill my gas mileage. So I figured I would look for a new platform to find my 11 second daily driver. I would want to put the same upgrades on my next car. I would make sure that the car would be tuned for all of the upgrades that I get. How well would a LS2 GTO respond to those upgrades?
