Good evening,

Me and my dad recently became the proud owners of a 1969 Liberty Blue/Parchment interior GTO. It is a number matching Judge Ram Air III car with an automatic, white vinyl top, and air conditioning. Previous owner completed about 90% of the work - we are finishing the restoration and had a few questions:

- are the scoops for the hood plastic or pop metal?
- where can we get a correct air cleaner thermal sensor unit?

Looking forward to learning more about GTOs! Thanks for having us!

Welcome to the forum.

Ram Air hood scoops are of plastic, non functional hood scoops are metal. Many think they can dremel out the back of the metal scoops and mate them to the flaps won't work without modifications, ram air scoops are a different design.
You should be able to find the thermal sensor unit at Ames Performance: Ames Performance Engineering, Classic GTO Parts, Firebird Parts, and Full Size Pontiac restoration parts.

Their search engine isn't very good, if you cannot find it you can call they are good at assisting and have good customer service.
