New from NC

Hey there. I'm currently in Iraq, but i'm stationed in NC. I don't own a GTO. I am a die hard mustang owner, I own 3 of them. I've never visited this site before. There's a fella at work with an 06 LS2 GTO. He's one of the only people in my unit who seems to be into american made muscle so enjoy it when we get a chance to talk cars or shoot the breeze about the latest mod we've installed, as well as the ones in the future. I respect the GTO's and don't have an oportunity to talk with many owners in person other than this guy. He's just starting to get into the aftermarket performance scene. He is unable to answer some of the questions i have about GTO's from time to time. I figured i might drop in here every so often when i'm looking for answers. So that being said, i am looking forward to learning some more about the other american muscle cars on the road. I heard the challengers are starting to show up on the street back home. Look forward to talking with some of the owners of them as well. With the camaro's coming soon, things at the track should be lots of fun as well as some of the Hooter's cruise-ins when Spring rolls around. Once again, look forward to some good conversations. Take care, thanks ya'll.

TorqueJunkie - Welcome to the Herd Man. X Mustang owner here too. Still think they are cool, but most can't match Ye Old Goats...

Thank you for the welcoming. What mustangs did you own PDQ? Also, can i ask some general questions about GTO's in this thread or is that forbidden in this section? I'm don't want to wear out my welcome. I can start a thread in Gernal Discussion if i need to.

In my late teens and early 20’s I had an 84 GT and 85 GT, Ya I am old…The 85 was my Favorite, had the roller rockers and OEM LT’s. That thing revved like a 2-stroke and had super tall gears. It would go 79 MPH in 2nd gear just under redline. It also had rear drum brakes.

The 85 still holds my top speed record at 148MPH...

I would start a new thread for a new topic, but it’s up to you…
