Hello -

I'm Robb. I live in Northern California. I'm in search of my Dad's 1970 GTO. It was owned/operated in Virginia, New Mexico, and Colorado. In 1978, it was totaled (by my step-mother) and it was sold to a private party in Nebraska. The ONLY info I have on it is a license plate when the vehicle was registered in Virginia (1975-1976). The Virginia license plate was: GPK 868.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a VIN # with this info so that I may (hopefully) track it down?

I'd truly appreciate ANY help. Thanks.

His insurance company may have a copy of the VIN # for you. If it was insured anyway.

Thank you for the reply. It was insured throught USAA, but they have purged their records for that time frame. Any other suggestions?

Contact the Virginia DMV and see if they will release the VIN number to you. Without the VIN your chances of finding your dads car are very slim,
