Starting Clean!

Hello everyone, I'm the proud owner of a 2004 5.7 red GTO. I used to drive a 2003 Tiburon GT, so as you can imagine, i'm real impressed with the GTO's power! It feels kind of strange getting into an un-modded car, so I have a few questions as to where to begin.... I'm interested in.....

Some sort of air intake upgrade

I really want to turn the exhaust into dual out both sides instead of single... where do I need to go to start that??

And finaly, what type of visual upgrades can I do to make my GTO stand out from the crowd??

Only regrets.... Not looking harder for a manual transmission.... and the HIGH payments :p

For split exhaust I think you can order an 05 exhaust and then get an 05-06 bumper and get them to work together. I have an 06 so I am not sure how exactly this is done, but maybe another member who has done this can help you out with that one.

Yea, I was thinking surely someone has done this mod.... if not what kind of exhaust would sound good with just the single dual tip.... I don't want it to sound like a truck though......

Congrats on your purchase. I sold one of my 67 gto's and a 2003 tiburon gt to buy my 06.

For a cai, most have K/N or LPE.

I am a big advocate of stock intakes. If you can find some positive info on aftermarket intakes from someone who doesn't have anything to gain, go for it. But I have a Corsa exhaust, and am VERY happy with it. And look into GMM ripshifters. http://www.jhp.com.au/monaro-gto/gto-short-shift.php Good mod!

Next is definitly N2O for me.

yea, yea I really wish I would have got a manual transmission..... so I could get the ripshifter! But, I was quick on the gun and didn't look around for a manual tranny Having an automatic for the first time has it's perks too though lol.... like being able to talk on a cell phone, drink a cup of coffee in the morning, shave, check the stocks, read a book or newspaper..... all at the same time :p (jkin of course)
