Interested in 6.0 GTO

Hello there, I am new to these forums but I have a few friends that own GTO's so I know that they are great cars. Lately I have been thinking about selling my current vehicle, and if I did then one of my first choices would be a 6.0 GTO. (Sorry not a 5.7 heh)

I live in California, and have searched autotrader and cars.com to find one in my 300 mile radius for one that I might be looking for and could not find any. So I thought the next best thing would be to try out here and see what I could find, and atleast I know the people here actually care about their GTO's.

My preferences would be Black exterior (don't really care about interior color that much), low mileage (30k below), Manual Trans, don't care if its stock or not (but in good condition ofcourse, well taken care of), for somewhere around $24,000 because that's about what I can get for my car I believe. I would be willing to negotiate color if needed. Car doesn't necassarily have to be in Cali, though that would make it much easier.

Now I'm not in a hurry or anything because I would still need to sell my car first, but I don't want to sell my car without knowing for sure what I'm going to get next, and that's why I'm hoping to maybe jump onto something here. I appreciate the help and look forward to hearing from someone on here. Thanks.

IF you buy one, car shipping is not all that expensive. Especially from say, Texas to California. Well under $1000.

Hell, he could fly to Texas for under 100 bucks and drive back to Cali. Get to open her up on the road that way!

That's all true, but why go through all that trouble if maybe there's something closer. I'd only want to do that if I couldn't find one here in cali for a few weeks, and I gave up my search or something...which I havn't yet.

Infact I went to the Pontiac Dealership nearby and they are really trying to get rid of these cars, I'm not sure why because I know that they are great cars but my GTO friend told me that it's quite possible that it's because they made too many of them and can't sell em.

The reason I say they are really trying to get rid of them is because there were a few brand new 2006's there with sticker price 30-32k and no used ones, the guy told me that if I have the money ready then they are willing to go down up to 8k from the sticker price. He said that knowing that I'm not even going to get the car today, well so in that case I might just be getting a brand spankin new 06 6.0 sometime soon.

Need to sell my car first though heheh.

Damn...a brand new GTO for 26K. Can't beat that!

I was recently in Burger King's drive through and looked over to the right ( BK's lot is kinda behind the Pontiac dealership's rear lot ) and saw 3 brand new GTOs sitting there collecting dus...DIRT! There's one in front of the place, but they're having such a hard time selling them that they just threw the others behind the building to make room for the other Pontiacs. It's a sad state to a GOAT in....

Yeah, like I said, I'm noticing that they really aren't selling and not many people own them, especially not where I live.

I see Mustangs and Mustang GT's all the time, I could easily get one of those 2007 brand new, but I don't want one, it's a cheaply made car that isn't even fast and the highest model cost an extra few hundred cuz it has Automatic Windows (hahaha yeah I laughed when the guy pointed that out). But the point is, I see a bunch of Mustang's but no GTO's.

I mean what on earth compells someone to a Mustang over a GTO? (other then price in some cases, but I'm sure a lot of people get ripped off buying a 28k Mustang GT)

Either way, I would absolutly love having a GTO so I'm gonna try my best getting a good price for my car.
