64 Tempest Manufacturing Markings

I have now removed the drivers side front fender and inner fender on my '64 Tempest. There are two interesting manufacturing markings on the cowl that I was wondering if anyone could elaborate on.

1. Drivers side cowl just behind inner fender (see first photo). This is a stamp/stencil saying "Line Test OK May 3 1964 First Shift". Anyone know what this means? It does give a good indication as to when this car was manufactured but I have no idea what a "Line Test" is.

2. There is also a chalk mark on the outside edge of the cowl (behind fender and just ahead of where the door hinges are). (see second photo). Any idea what "6 W" means?

I would assume they tested the fuel and brake lines at that stage of the assemble just prior to installing the fenders. The 6W could be someones initials which may be GW. Just a wild guess.
