changing interior what does it do to resale value

I am in the process of restoring a 1967 gto vert for resale it is a 4spd car regimental red with red interior. I want to get a decent buck for it but i am considering changing the interior to white much less red and more pleasing to {my} eye. My question is will it hurt the resale and i also can get a properly date coded motor as opposed to the proper year motor I already have.So will a car with swiched interior and non original motor be worth substantially less than a retored to correct car and if so how much less aproximately--todd

Welcome to the forums.
It`s all in the eye of the buyer/end user. There may be a guy out there right now looking for that factory red on red convertible and willing to pay for it. If you were planning on keeping and driving the car, then I`d suggest putting in what you like, but for resale, I`d stick to original. It`ll look better when you hand the new buyer the PHS documents (if you have them) and all the info matches what the car is. Just my 2 cents anyway.

I have to agree with Rukee. If it were mine, no question I'd put the parchment (white) interior in the car. Much more comfortable with the top down in the blazing sun. But, Red on red is a desirable color combo. Very '60's. For resale, go original. BTW: I changed my gold on gold '67 convert to Burgundy/parchment 15 years ago. I still don't regret it!!!
