correct air cleaner for 71 400?

I am trying to figure something out. I bought a dual snorkel air cleaner off ebay, which appeared to be correct, but when I attempted to put it on the carb, it won't fit because it has what looks to be a connection for a heating element tube on the driver's side snorkel. I know my car does not have a heater tube of any kind coming off the exhaust manifold, and this extension coming off the snorkel even hits the valve cover. It was advertised as fitting a 69-72 gto, but the owner did not say what it came off of.

Update:

I believe it to be correct, the air cleaner is tilted a bit to the side, I was thinking it should go in straight up. Thank God there are tons of gto pictures out there to match up with.

This leads me to the heater element-I don't see one on my exhaust manifold, is it possible that it was taken off?

Thanks in advance!
-Steve

On the drivers side head a pre heater shroud is bolted on there and sometimes they are removed and nerver put back thats why you dont see on the drivers side where a hose that would go to the air cleaner to the shroud would connect. On dual snorkle air cleaners the snorkle with the hose connection would face towards the like the middle of the drivers passenger valve cover and the other snorkle towards the front of the car. Is the extension on the air cleaner have a 45 degree turn to it where the flexible heater hose would connect
