Do I need to replace the old dampener?

My engine builder called and said my 400 is moving along and is ready for balancing. he suggested to get a new dampener and clutch. Do i really need to replace the dampener and clutch for my street driven, never gonna be raced, 1970 gto?

It`s not uncommon to replace those items during a rebuild. The dampener especially if it`s getting balanced.
