Fuel Line Question

I have an original Rochester carb on my 67 GTO but the hard fuel line has been replaced with a rubber hose to the fuel pump. I have the hard fuel line but it does not "mate" properly with the pump. Either the pump is incorrect or special fittings at the fuel pump are requirred. I do not remember any special fittings are the pump. This model does have the vapor line.
I have tried every inverted fitting that I could locate locally but nothing seems to work correctly. Any help would be appreciated. Photos (at fuel pump) would be great!!

Welcome to the forums!
The hard fuel line does not go all the way to the pump. There should be about 6 inches of rubber line between the hard line and the pump to prevent vibrations from breaking the hard line. Hope this helps.
