Sagging 67 GTO HELP!

Hello. My 67 GTO has been in storage for 6 years. Prior to storing it I installed a set of AMES Performance rear coil springs. The car always looked low to begin with but now it seems very low. So low that when I it a bump there is a loud thump in the rear of the car. I had the car on a hoist, no exhaust banging, the tailshaft UV joint used to smack the trans tunnel but I think that is fixed. I am trying to figure out how high the rear of the car should be. Right now the center of the rear wheel well is 23 7/16 inches from the ground. I knwo tire size makes a big difference. The car has 17" wheels and 40 series tires. The springs are VERY mushy. Does anyone know of a stigffer spring that will not lower the car? That is a little cheaper tham Hotchkis or Glocal West?

Can anyone email me a copy of their spring perches on a factory 66-67 gto? I started thinking my car was cobbled together and the axel may be wrong? When I bought the car in 2001 it had helper spring around the shocks and coil springs. I replaced those with new monroe shocks...6 yrs ago.

Any help would be appreciated. Anyopne in Detroit area???
