Idiot Dodge Dealer

This is not really a GTO story but I could not resist posting it...

This morning my son and I are out in the GTO doing the Saturday morning stops. When we stop at a light next to our local Dodge dealer two salesmen are standing out front next to a fresh off the truck, 425hp Magnum SRT-8. One of them points at me and says something to his partner. I say to myself what the hell... I hit the turn signal and pull into the lot.

As I get out with my son they are all over me asking questions. "Can I help you?" "We've got some great deals!!" "Can I take her for a test drive?"

I say, "Well I am thinking about trading for the new Magnum." (I wasn't...), and stroll up to the sticker.

On the window are two stickers, the first sticker is from the factory and says $41,000. The second lists the "Dealer Options" and along with mats and window tinting listed a $15,000 market adjustment charge!!!

I say, "This is a joke right?"

He says, "No, it is a very popular car."

I say, "So you're not coming down off this?"

He says, "Nope. With a car like yours I'd think you'd understand driving an exclusive car like this. Do you want to take her for a spin?"

I say... "BAH HA HA HA HA!!! You know you guys have some pair pricing a car like this... I'll tell you what, I'll come back when you're rebating on the employee discount."

As my son and I are leaving the lot, the second salesman walks up to the window, looks in the car and asks, "So is this a Saturn?"

I answered with two smoking stripes on the pavement in front of the dealership.

Why do American car dealers continue to cut their own throats with incompetent salesmen and irresponsible tactics?

You didn't need to use the word "idiot" in your post as the words "Dodge Dealer" pretty much mean "idiot" on their own.

Maybe... But this guy really looked like he didn't know what he was doing.

If he was trying to take a shot at me it didn't work.

On the "Saturn" note...i saw this nice Chevy Siverado behind me, it was lowered and sounded pretty good. I love trucks so i got over and want to see it at the next stop light. The guy pulled next to me and rolled down his window...to my dismay, he asked..."Hey! Does that have a Hemi in it?" I looked at him for a second and corrected him, he still asked "are you sure it dont have a Hemi?" It took all i had not to take the life of the one brain cell that still fed in his thick skull... but i was polite and just drove off.
